ABOUT US
Jeff King and Dale Pitz founded Port City Staircase, Inc in the port city of Wilmington, NC in 1999. With over 45 years of combined experience, the two principles set about building a team with an eye for detail and a reputation for quality and service. This reputation led Port City Staircase to expand its operations to Charleston, SC in 2000, Myrtle Beach, SC in 2004, and Raleigh, NC in 2006.The increased territory and demand required increased production capacity which was accomplished in 2004 by moving the corporate headquarters and central manufacturing facility to a new, state-of-the-art, 42,000 square ft facility in Wilmington. Advanced technology, such as CNC (computer numeric controlled) routers and CAD (computer aided design), blended with old-fashioned skilled craftsmanship produces staircases of unmatched quality, precision, and value. Today, with over 55 employees, Port City Staircase has established itself as the premier “custom” staircase manufacturer on the east coast. The team constructs quality custom staircases for builders, celebrities, professional athletes, even multi-million dollar luxury yachts. Port City Staircase was also selected to appear with Bob Vila on Home Again with Bob Vila and has twice constructed the staircases for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Dream Home in Raleigh.
